The fact that the commuter rail from Boston goes straight through to Fitchburg is a blessing for people in Ayer, Shirley, Leominster and Fitchburg who work in the city. Gas is expected to reach $3 a gallon by summer and factoring in city driving, taking the train to work is the only way to go.
