Today is one of those perfect apple-picking days. We missed the brunt of Hurricane Earl, and the sky is a beautiful blue.
We have spent many great fall afternoons picking apples in the area- the kids used to do it when they were in Pre-K and K with the school, and we always went out in late September for an afternoon. A couple of places that we love are Autumn Hills Orchard and Doe Orchards – call to make sure they have apples ready. Nearly every rural community boasts an apple orchard or two.
