Doing something to improve a community makes everyone happy. A fascinating summary about how little things affect crime rate can be found here.

It seems like magic that little things like trash and graffiti removal can make such a difference to a neighborhood. Fitchburg, MA is going to make a little magic on June 12 from 10-3 when they spearhead a community improvement project: SWIRL. Under the auspices of Neighborworks and the Twin Cities CDC, the community will work together to create painted plywood panels for boarding up vacant properties in the area. You can see the difference:

According to a report on Telegram.com, Leominster and Fitchburg favorably compared to other “middle cities” when comparing MCAS score improvements.

Middle cities are defines as those “caught between their past as industrial centers and their future and also because they’re caught between Boston and the suburbs, said Maria Ortiz Perez, program manager for the Middle Cities Initiative” according to the report.

While Worcester and Fitchburg performed better than their peer cities, Leominster joined them in substantially decreasing dropout rates at a faster clip than the statewide average for other middle cities.

We have written here about raising the bar in Real Estate. As an office, we have been working hard to walk the walk.

We will be opening the Fitchburg office for the purpose of raising the bar for our clients. We have already implemented an incredible marketing machine for listings (call us for details! They have started blogs to showcase their listings and to highlight to clients their particular strengths and talents. Our agents regularly add to their education in all areas; two recently became certified SFRs (Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource). Even though we as a group are busier than the average area agent, we understand the need for improvement.

Towne & Country, Realtors, Fitchburg will be used primarily as a training and marketing location. We plan on using this space to improve and streamline business – to reduce Days on Market for properties by taking advantage of everything that online media has to offer (and that is prodigious and ever-changing), and to create a climate where our Realtors can connect meaningfully with people who want to buy a home, sell a home, or who just have real estate questions.
