365 Things Day 1

This is the first post in our 365 Things to do in Massachusetts series. We will be posting something new to do for every day of the year. Check back every day to see what we come up with!
Massachusetts Maple Producers

Spring- at least according to the calendar- is finally here! The spring peepers were heard here last night for the first time, in warm spots crocuses are in bloom, and the sap is rising in the trees.

Around here, this means that it is time to tap the sugar maples for their sweet sap and boil it down to make maple syrup. Don’t feel up to doing this at home? Don’t know a maple from a magnolia? There are many sugar houses in Massachusetts that are happy to give you a tour.

The Massachusetts Maple Producers Association site lists Sugar Houses and Sugar House restaurants that you can go to for pancakes and fresh maple syrup. They also describe in detail how to make your own maple syrup. Call before setting out to confirm hours.

Ahh- Spring! How sweet!

We are moving to Gerry's blog at RealtyMan.com! Meet us over there for listings, local information and things to do in Massachusetts.
